Sorry, it's only a website that strips.
But in the spirit of the true purpose of the annual CSS Naked Day event, I've created two Wordpress themes:
- Nekkid: A style-less theme that should hopefully be a big help to those who are interested in uniquely coding their own design for a Wordpress website.
- Clean: Using the same template pages as the Nekkid theme, all I did was add images and customize the stylesheet and voila! The "Clean" theme was born.
The useful thing about the Nekkid theme is that it should be exceptionally easy for anyone new or inexperienced in theming to make their own style without having to edit a million pages. Since it is time consuming to create your own design structure from scratch, we all have (at least once) just rearranged another theme to fit our needs and added our own styles.
I added wrapper containers with unique classes to almost every element in each template file and then wrote the stylesheet so each class is present but empty of styling. It should be simple enough for anyone to create a theme by just plugging customized styles into the CSS and editing as you go.
For those who are still learning about CSS and/or structure, I pasted lots of reference links for each type of tag in the stylesheet to help you understand its usage. There are also links and comments sprinkled throughout the actual template pages to explain why I chose to use certain formats of Template Tags.
The stylesheet itself might seem bulky or redundant to those with more experience, so feel free to modify and delete whatever you like. You can also combine classes together if you want to use the same look for several types of elements. Please see the Clean theme on how to achieve this if you are unsure.
That is one reason why I created the Clean theme, to give you an example of how you can manipulate Nekkid's CSS classes to style things down to the last pixel.
That is one thing I think escapes a lot of designers (new and veteran) these days: the ability to fully customize one's website. You get so flustered by the endless lines of code that you toss any notion of writing your own design from scratch.
But have no fear! You can be Nekkid and Clean now forevermore!
Here are some important features to note about these two themes before downloading either:
- Wordpress 2.5 only. No other version supported.
- Usable with widgets but you can make your own sidebar too.
- Semantic markup structure so your site even looks awesome naked.
- A 404 notifier built in to email you any 404 (not found) errors received.
- Several unique CSS classes to heavily customize every bit of the design.
- In-depth explanations and references to help explain what everything means.
- An extra stylesheet for IE you can easily add fixes to if needed.
Ready to download?
Unzip and upload to the Wordpress themes directory on your site. Please remember that Nekkid is a style-less theme:
I'd like to give digital cookies of thanks to Ashley, Hev, and Aisling for testing the Nekkid theme and giving me great feedback!
I'm still open to suggestions, fixes, etc, so just let me know what you think!
I am so sleepy. You know you're tired when you start trying to close every tag with a strong tag.
Enjoy the themes, I hope they are helpful!

Thanks all.
@Mendifae: Do remember though that the Nekkid theme is not meant to be an official theme. It’s just for building your own.
